RHS students compete, advance in Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl

Rhinelander High School qualified three teams for the Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl (FICB) state finals at the 4th Annual Northwoods Regional at Nicolet College in Rhinelander March 30. The FICB is a live, college-bowl tournament where teams compete to determine regional champions to compete in the statewide finals to be held at Manpower world headquarters in Milwaukee, WI on April 27, 2016. Four teams from Three Lakes and two teams from Bowler also participated in the event this year. One team from Bowler will be joining the three Rhinelander teams at the state tournament.
This is the first time Rhinelander has qualified three teams for the state finals by placing three teams in the final four. The third place team is Eva O’Melia, Taylor Trachte, Jon Fox, and Adam Mueller. The runner-ups were Jeff Chizever, Gunnar Millot, Mitchel Modic, and Jacob Piasecki. The championship team of the Northwoods regional is Andy Padgett, Max Holperin, Alison Kubeny, and Bryce Young. These three teams will compete against the other regional winners from around the state of Wisconsin. The Rhinelander teams are coached by Rhinelander High School Business Instructor, Patrick Kubeny.
