Student art on display at local bank
Central Intermediate School’s art department has begun its “Artist of the Month” recognition. After months of planning and collaboration, the new project was unveiled with the first round of students.
“We have developed a very unique way to show off student work,” said Central art teacher, Kimberly Martiny. “In addition to recognition at the monthly SuperStar Assembly, student artwork will be displayed in a special location outside of the school. As a supporter of our schools and of the Arts, Nicolet National Bank has graciously agreed to partner up with Central School’s Art Department and publicly display student work within their business. This is such an exciting opportunity to show off the talents of our students for the community!”
“Nicolet National Bank is proud to be a part of this project and to help support our local kids,” said Nicolet National Bank Branch Manager, Dana DeMet. “The artwork has quickly become a popular addition to our branch, and both employees and customers enjoy seeing the talented work of the Central School students.”
Students are chosen as Artist of the Month for their innovative thinking skills, creative applications, showcasing of exemplary learning through the project expectations, and of course, by positively demonstrating the 4B’s (Be Here, Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible).
Martiny said the hope is that promotion of such a program within the community will build confidence, pride and character within the students.
“In addition, this opportunity will showcase the talents of our students for the community,” she added. “Congratulations to our March Artists and a very special “thank you” to Nicolet National Bank!
The first round of student artwork will hang within Nicolet National Bank from March 1-31st.
“I look forward to seeing what fun and unique creations the students will make month after month,” DeMet added. “Don’t forget to come by and see it for yourself!”
