Many northern Wisconsin residents began 2016 by making New Year’s resolutions to live a healthier lifestyle.

Many of these resolutions are started with the best of intentions, but don’t have the support needed to put them into action.

Northwoods residents now have the opportunity to turn their 2016 New Year’s resolution into a lasting lifestyle change one step at a time through participation in the Ministry Community Kick Start Program which begins in Rhinelander on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

This motivational program is free of charge to all participants and is for anyone who wants to increase their physical activity with participation in group training sessions.

These sessions are designed for participants of any level with facilitated sessions for those who need some extra help getting started and non-facilitated trainings for those already on the path of regular exercise. The goal is the same for all participants, to get active with a goal of walking, jogging or running in a 5K (3.1 miles) non-competitive event at the end.
A Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) grant from Ministry Health Care will help support the program which is a community collaboration to designed improve the health and well-being of all participants and the community. This program is being implemented in collaboration with the YMCA of the Northwood’s and Ministry Rehabilitation Services.
We encourage you to join us for our Kickoff Event which will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9 at the YMCA of the Northwoods.

The first facilitated training session will follow at 6 p.m. Additional facilitated training sessions will be held on each Tuesday and Thursday at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Non-facilitated trainings will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon. All training will take place at the YMCA.

For registration materials, please visit ministryhealth.org/kickstart. Registration forms are also available at Ministry Location’s throughout the Northwoods or by visiting the YMCA of the Northwoods.
