Improv comedy comes to Nicolet College
For Star Journal
As one of Chicago’s top comedy troupes, Baby Wants Candy will venture north Saturday, Feb. 13, to perform its crazy style of musical improv at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicolet College Theatre.
“This is one of the hottest and most innovative comedy troupes out there right now,” said Nicolet College Theatre director Jim Nuttall. “What they do on stage and how they make up these absolutely hilarious stories on the spot really is creative entertainment at its highest level.”
The troupe starts off each show with ingenious improv games with willing participants from the audience. The second half begins with audience members shouting out names of musicals that have never been performed before. The troupe then uses that as the theme for an on-the-spot original improv musical.
They’ve been hailed as the “Best comedy in Chicago” by Chicago Magazine and described as a Saturday Night Live-caliber comedy troupe.
Tickets for the show at Nicolet College are $15 and can be ordered online at nicoletlive.com or by calling 715-365-4646.
