Warm for Winter donations from the Y
YMCA of the Northwoods members, staff and friends donated hats, mittens, scarves and other outdoor clothing items to the second annual Tree of Warmth in the Y lobby. The tree was covered top to bottom with new and gently used items that were donated to Warm for Winter to help keep community members warm. In addition, over 50 new toys were donated to Warm for Winter, Journey’s Toy Box, in memory of Journey Bembenek.
“Thank you so much for the donation of toys and mittens and scarves to Warm for Winter,” said Warm for Winter organizer Jan Leschke. “Because of your members’ generous donation, you have made many, many children and adults happy and warm this winter. We really appreciate your support. “
The Y plans to sponsor the Tree of Warmth again next holiday season and extends a warm thank you to everyone who made this a success.
