Everist Carl Gresser, age 73, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 12, 1942 to Everist and Lorraine (Vollmer) Gresser in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Everist attended school in South Milwaukee. He moved to Rhinelander in 1962 to marry the love of his life, Mary Jane Radtke on July 28, 1962. Everist worked at several different places, including Appleton Electric, Radtke’s Service Station, Ev’s Radiator Repair, Martin Bus Service, Lakeland Liquor, Gresser Auto Repair and Northern Auto Supply. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing all seasons of the year. Another passion of his was working on vehicles and restoring cars. For twenty years, he was a member of the Golden Glow of Christmas Past Club. This club gave him opportunities to attend conventions around the United States. A highlight was when he and Mary Jane were able to follow their dream and take two trips to Germany.

Everist is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; children, Rosie, Lisa (John) Kasmarek and Kurt (Pam); two grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Winkler and Neil Kasmarek; two step-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Marvin (Paulette) Gresser and Dennis (Marilyn) Gresser; a sister, Janice (Mike) Hender and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, mother-in-law and father-in-law.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home with Deacon Michael Harvey officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home & Cremation Specialist, 24 E. Davenport St Rhinelander, WI 54501 – 715-365-4343. Celebrating lives and healing hearts. All are invited to light a candle, sign the guestbook and leave a photo or an online condolence at www.hildebrandrussfh.com.
