Hodag statue is vandalized

Rhinelander Police are looking for any information relating to the vandalism of the Hodag statue that sits in front of the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce building on Kemp Street and Sutliff Avenue.
Chamber staff noticed the damage, four claws (two on the rear right foot and two on the left front foot), this morning when unlocking the building. They believe the damage was done sometime during the evening of December 15.
Chamber Executive Director Bill Clow said he has contacted the police and the person who built the statue and repaired it in 2012 following similar vandalism. Anyone with information about who may be responsible for the damage is asked to contact the Rhinelander Police Department.
