Seeking oncology compromise
Editor:
Here is hoping and praying that Marshfield Clinic and Ministry will sit down one more time and come up with a compromise in regard to the James Beck Cancer Center.

Both organizations have philosophy/mission statements which state that patients come first!!

To not compromise on something which effects maintaining continuity of care for those dealing with a diagnosis of cancer, should be considered unacceptable.

Do not cancer patients have enough to deal with, without having to contend with change of caregivers or adding travel time to their days?
Quoting a Marshfield Clinic website “Ministry Health Care and Marshfield Clinic developed this collaborative approach to provide premier medical oncology services….”

Hope to see this continue in the future for all those who have heard and will hear the statement, “You have cancer.”

Barack Obama to blame for ISIS
Editor:
Are you buying what Barack Obama is peddling? After all this time of being in denial about ISIS, Obama tells us he intends to get “serious” now about defeating them. He’s talked about them being “The JV’s,” said they were “contained,” and that they are a “small group” of murderers. No doubt they are murderers, but every time they pull off another killing spree, pea-brained idiots rush to join them. Obama could have used the G-20 conference recently to make some genuine points about ISIS, but instead used his speech to take pot shots at our governors who want to put the brakes on Obama’s plan to fast-track thousands of Syrian refugees to America. He also insulted the French by calling the Paris attacks “a setback.” Stunning arrogance, even for Obama. The president of France did more in a few days to fight terrorism than Obama has done in seven years. So, no, Obama’s assurances for our safety in America do not exactly leave with felling warm and fuzzy. A real president, concerned first and foremost with our citizens, would be pulling out all stops, using every resource at our disposal, showing some leadership when it is sorely needed.
Why is Obama so intent on closing down GITMO? Why has he done less than nothing about our porous Southern borders? Why does he seem more concerned about the refugees than our own people? Politics of course, and political correctness as always. People with common sense know that ISIS will try to make good on the promise to try to infiltrate the refugees with some of their own. There is no reason to doubt that. These are not just “widows and orphans,” as Obama has said. And now Canada, with an equally porous border says they will take 25,000 Syrian refugees in the next few months. As my grandfather would say, “nothing like letting the foxes into the hen house.”
The reason ISIS has gained such numbers is directly related to Obama’s failed policies. Every expert told him that if we pulled out of the area in the Middle East, it would create a vacuum, ripe for terrorists to move in, and that is exactly what has happened. And now Russia has joined the party and we know how unpredictable they are.
Hillary Clinton says “it is not our fight.” Bernie Sanders says all this terrorist activity is related to “global warming.” Can’t imagine a more unqualified pair running for President, except the one we have now. Whoever wins the election will have an unprecedented mess to contend with and the results of an eight-year mistake.
