Rhinelander students to perform at the state Capitol
By Star Journal staff
Two Rhinelander High School (RHS) musical ensembles will be performing at the Capitol in Madison later this week for the state Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The official state tree was donated by the Kowieski family in Rhinelander, who suggested the music students to state of Wisconsin officials.
RHS band director Connie Piasecki said they were officially invited by the Governor’s office to perform in the rotunda. Due to space issues, Piasecki said they are only able to bring a portion of the music students. The Wind Ensemble and the Show Choir are the two groups going. They will be performing a holiday medley of carols together and each group will perform separately as well.
The Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association and the RHS Band Parent Organization helped fund the trip.
