Obituary: Thomas F. Scheeler

American FlagThomas F. Scheeler, age 76, of Rhinelander, passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on November 17, 2015. Tom was born in Rhinelander on April 2, 1939, to Raymond and Eleanor (Schulz) Scheeler. He attended schools here graduating from RHS in 1957. He enlisted in the Marines and served our country for 10+ years, receiving an honorable discharge. After his service, Tom lived in Texas working as a route salesman for Gideon Distributing for 18 years. Returning to Rhinelander, he drove semi for Trig’s before retiring. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed traveling with his wife, Barb, in their motor home. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends. He loved deer hunting, snowmobiling, boating and just being outdoors. The last few years, Tom had a special mission collecting can tabs for The Ronald McDonald House and Make-A-Wish Foundation. Tom is survived by his wife Barbara Busch-Scheeler, son Shawn (Beth) Scheeler of Rhinelander, daughter Dana Scheeler Wall of Bridge City, TX, stepson Patrick (Kate) Clancy of Eden Prairie, MN, stepdaughter Terri (Worden) Thompson of Rhinelander, sister Janice Scheeler of Rhinelander, brother Spencer Scheeler of Rhinelander, sister-in-law Sandra Busch Solberg of The Villages, FL, grandchildren Corbin, Adrienne, Kaitlyn, Connor, and Cade, nieces, nephews, and his furry pals, Lady and Rennie. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and brother-in-law Robert Busch. There will be no services at this time per Tom’s wishes. Interment will be in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. Carlson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. You may leave your private condolences at www.carlsonfh.com.
