Edna Elizabeth Garber, age 97 of Rhinelander, died Monday, October, 19, 2015, at Friendly Village Nursing and Rehab. She was born on July 27, 1918, in Rhinelander to Gust and Hulda Peterson.
Edna attended school in Rhinelander before her marriage to Clinton J. Garber in 1936 and they enjoyed 74 years together prior to Clinton’s passing on October 21, 2010. During much of her life, Edna was a homemaker who was dedicated to caring for her family. She was a devoted Packer fan and was a member of several card clubs through the years. The world was truly a better place with Edna in it.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Diane (Tom) Brown of Fall Creek; two sons, Daniel (Barbara) Garber of Tequesta, FL and C.J. (Linda) Garber of Rhinelander; 14 grandchildren; and many great and great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dean and Dennis.
Family services will be held at a later date. Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is assisting the family and condolences may be forwarded at www.carlsonfh.com.
