Executive Director, Downtown Rhinelander Inc.

Maggie Steffen 2012, WEBThe second most popular American holiday is almost here: Halloween. Downtown Rhinelander Inc. is big on this holiday, too. Next Saturday, October 24 is the Downtown Trick or Treat from 2-4 p.m. Over 36 businesses are participating. Look for the Orange pumpkin on their door or in their window. Don’t forget to look at all the businesses your downtown features. (Maybe start some mental or actual Christmas shopping).

The other DRI Halloween event is the “Haunted” Hodag Howl. This is also next Saturday, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Quality Inn. This is an Adult Costume Party for EVERYONE. You don’t have to come in costume but if you do you will receive 5 free raffle tickets. There will be a DJ and dancing, games, raffles, silent auction (an autographed Packer football is one of the items) hors de oeuvres (catered by the Rhinelander Café & Pub) and a cash bar. Tickets are $15 and are available at the Rhinelander Café & Pub, Trigs and at the door.

And…we know you have seen them- you may have even wanted one. What am I talking about? A Hodag. This is the evening that we will be auctioning off a large and five or six mini Hodags. The auction starts at 8 p.m. We invite you to vote for your favorite on Downtown Rhinelander Inc’s Facebook page. By doing so, you could be choosing which Hodags go up for auction. The Hodags aren’t being made anymore so this is truly one of the last chances you’ll ever have to own one.

Thank you to Hodag On Parade sponsors who continue to support your downtown; Bucketheads, CoVantage Credit Union, Peoples State Bank, Rhinelander GM, Rhinelander Honda, Ripco Credit Union, Superior Diesel , Trigs & Wipfli LLP.
We are never too old for Halloween…See you there!
