Obituary: Babetta “Betta” Albrant

Babetta “Betta” Albrant, age 74 of Rhinelander, died Thursday, October 8, 2015. She was born on March 29, 1941, in Rhinelander to William and Hazel (Hails) Cleland.

Betta graduated from Rhinelander High School. She married Roger Albrant on April 7, 1962, and together they raised their family of two children. In addition to being a homemaker, Betta assisted her sister, Bev in the care of special needs residents at Kaleidoscope Group Home as well as providing in home child care.

Betta loved children and her grandchildren were her true pride and joy. She also enjoyed rides in the car, especially the Mustang convertible for an ice cream cone, or to view the fall leaves or Christmas decorations. Betta was a member of Grace Foursquare Church and will be fondly remembered as a person who always put others before herself and as a woman who never required much to make her happy. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Betta is survived by her husband, Roger J. Albrant Sr. of Rhinelander; her two children, Roger “Skeeter (Chris) Albrant Jr. and Kim Alsteens both of Rhinelander; eight grandchildren, Brad, Kevin, Corey, Ashley, Brooke, Brett, Jason, and Angie; sister, Bonnie Hahn of Appleton; brother, Dennis Cleland of Rhinelander; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel and two sisters, Barbara Blackwell and Beverly Bishop.

The funeral service for Betta will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015, at Grace Foursquare Church with Rev. Robert Messerli officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church. Interment will be in Northland Memorial Park. Condolences to Betta’s family may be directed to www.carlsonfh.com.
