Obituary: Sarah Ann Warnecke

Sarah Ann Warnecke, age 78, of Harshaw died  September 6, 2015 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. She was born November 3, 1936 in Milwaukee to Gustave and Florence(Krieske)Piersing. She attended schools in Miami, Florida and eventually attained her degree as an RN. Sarah used her skills as an RN at hospitals in Miami, Waukegan, Illinois and Tomahawk. She also was employed as the RN on the Sante Fe Railroad. She married James Warnecke on August 3rd, 1968 in Antioch, Illinois and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage. During those years they enjoyed traveling in their RV to many destinations that often included “rockhounding,” as Sarah was a member of the Lakeland Gem Club. It also led to her employment as the manager of the Buffalo Lake Campground for 16 years. Sarah also quilted and kept a beautiful garden. As a child she was a member a ballet company in Miami and those special memories were with her her entire life. Sarah is survived by her husband, James Warnecke of Harshaw; her daughter Liesl Warnecke-Koch of Harshaw; her son Karl Warnecke of Wausau; and her granddaughter Abbigail Koch; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Private family services have been held for Sarah. You may leave your private condolences for the Warnecke family at www.carlsonfh.com.
