Obituary: Dorothy J. LeBrun

Dorothy J. LeBrun, age 91, died Monday, September 7, 2015 at Rennes Health and Rehab. She was born March 14, 1924 to Martin and Louise (Platteter) Pospychala in Rhinelander. Dorothy was a 1942 graduate of Rhinelander High School. She married Clarence “Fred” LeBrun in 1942, they were married for 43 years. Dorothy taught CCD for nineteen years at St. Joseph’s. She was a sport coach for football and baseball at West School and was also the playground director for outside activities for four years. Dorothy was the sport coach for girls’ volleyball for ten years.  She was the Commissioner of Rhinelander for the Police and Fire Departments. Dorothy golfed and played softball for many years. She was the VFW Drum Corps Bugler. Dorothy won numerous trophies in women’s open site archery. She especially enjoyed the outdoors – fall hunting and fishing.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, Ed Pospychala and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers, John Pospychala and Sy Poskie and her sister, Lucille Petta.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church – St. Mary’s site with Fr. Mike McLain officiating. Burial will follow at Nativity of Our Lord Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 10:45am at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home.
