Pay off your library fines by supporting the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry

The Rhinelander District Library will be offering “Food for Fines” program this September. Did you hold on to that book or movie a bit too long, returning it late and racking up fines at the Rhinelander District Library? Now’s your chance to pay it off and do some good as well.

From Sept. 1-30, the Rhinelander District Library will collect non-perishable food items at their locations in lieu of payment for your fines. The Library will accept any items with an expiration of 2016 such as canned or packaged foods. Each item counts as $1 off your current fine up to $5. However, this offer only applies to fines on Rhinelander District Library materials, and does not apply to replacement costs for lost or damaged library materials. Be sure to bring your library card.

If you do not have any fines, but would like to help the Food Pantry, you are welcome to bring non-perishable food items to the library during normal business hours.

Contact the Rhinelander District Library at 715-365-1070 for more information about this upcoming program.
