Obituary: William Patrick Reilly
William Patrick Reilly of Fort Myers, Florida, and a long-time resident of Westchester County, New York, died August 17, 2015 at his summer cottage in Rhinelander, after a short illness. His loving family was with him. Bill was born July 29, 1935 in Lynbrook, New York to Austin Patrick and Annabel Hayes Reilly. He attended Lynbrook High School, won a football scholarship to Bucknell University and subsequently graduated from the University of Virginia Law School. Bill then spent 40 years at Gould and Wilkie in New York, eventually becoming a Managing Partner and then retiring in 2002. During this time he also served on the board of the Salvation Army in New York. He loved travel, classical music, the Northwoods and especially his family, who will miss him. He is survived by his second wife, Jane Letherman Reilly; his daughter Karin Reilly, his daughter by his first marriage to Renate Runde (who predeceased him) and her two children, Finnley and Shaunagh Hartz. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Christine Brubaker Borner and her daughter Robynne Emory Borner, other family and many friends. Funeral services will be held this Friday, August 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Rhinelander, with Father David Klutterman officiating.
