Fire trucks from around the Northwoods were lined up near the Carlson Funeral Home in Rhinelander where friends and family of Andrew “AJ” Wege gathered this morning (Saturday) to say goodbye. He was a member of the Pine Lake Fire Department for 16 years, and had AJ Wegeachieved the rank of Captain.

30-year old AJ suffered from Cystic Fibrosis and at the time of his death was awaiting a lung transplant, but was unable to get healthy enough to be put on the transplant list.

A Benefit dinner is planned for Saturday, July 25 at 4 p.m. at Northwoods Banquet Center, to assist the family with medical bills.

AJ is survived by his wife, Ellen and his mother, Janice.
