The 2015 Samoset Council – Crystal Lake District Food Drive generated nearly 1,000 pounds of food for the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry.Troops 660, 672 and 673 along with Packs 660 and 672 participated in this year’s food drive. Jane Motowski, RAFP General Manager, said the young men should be very proud of themselves for the large amount of food that they gathered. Last year the Food Pantry averaged 616 household visits each month and generous acts like this are essential to insure that food is available for area families.

Members of the Kohl’s Associates In Action volunteered their time to sort the food that was delivered to the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry by area Boy Scouts. The nearly 1,000 pounds of food was sorted so it could be placed on the shelves at the Food Pantry for distribution to area families in need.

Last year RAFP’s average distribution was over 47,000 pounds each month. Groups like Kohl’s and the Boy Scouts, that donate their time, money or food are critical to the Pantry meeting the needs of the community.
