RHS jazz musicians perform well at festival

Rhinelander High School’s Green Shades Jazz Ensemble participated in the Shawano High School Jazz Festival (SHAZZ) last weekend. Green Shades received one of the four Outstanding Band awards given out that day.

There were 20 bands that participated from around the state. Also acknowledged was Faith Bartelt for outstanding soloist. She joined guest clinicians (Eric Marienthal and Andy Martin) on stage at the finale concert. Ben Sawyer and Duncan Seidel also received certificates for solos.

In Back, Riley Aschenbrenner, Valarie Puza, Annika Benoy, Ben Sawyer, Andy Padgett, Marshall Dana, Alex Wagler and Alec Modrow. Connie Piasecki is the band’s director.
