The latest information from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, on March 9, 2015, investigators confirmed Thomas Ayers’s death was caused by injuries sustained from a firearm and Jennifer Ayers’s death was caused by injuries sustained from a knife. The investigation continues.  There is no other information being released at this time.

Seventeen-year old Ashlee A. Martinson of Rhinelander has been
charged with two counts of first degree intentional homicide in the
deaths of her mother and step-father at their home over the weekend.
Martinson, a Rhinelander High School junior, has also been charged with
three counts of false imprisonment for allegedly confining three minor
children in a room in the home.

The bodies of Thomas Ayers, age 37, and Jennifer Ayers, age 40, were
found Sunday morning by Oneida County sheriff’s deputies. The officers
were responding to a 911 call Sunday, March 8 to a residence located at
1625 Co. Hwy C in the town of Piehl, shortly before 11 a.m. Three minor
children at the scene implicated Ashlee Martinson in the death of
Martinson’s mother and step-father. The children were found safe and
without physical injury.

The 17-year old Martinson and a companion, Ryan Sisco, age 22 were
apprehended by authorities in Indiana Sunday night and are awaiting
extradition to Wisconsin.
