Rhinelander Area Food Pantry spring food, funds drive

Following large community donations to the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry (RAFP) around the holidays, spring often finds the shelves a little light. To remedy that, the RAFP is once again offering a challenge to local residents.
An anonymous local donor has stepped forward to match food and cash contributions made by the community from March 1 to April 30. These donations may include cash, checks and food items (valued at $1.00 per item or pound) or pledges, as long as they were obtained as part of this challenge. People’s Choice voting on the CANtastics structure in the upcoming contest, March 7- March 20 at the Rouman Cinema, will also qualify towards this campaign.
“Past year’s campaigns have been very successful in generating a significant amount of food and monetary donations,” said Guy Hansen, RAFP Executive Director. “We are hopeful that the March and April 2015 campaign will be as equally successful”.
To help the pantry meet this challenge, monetary donations can be made to: Rhinelander Area Food Pantry c/o BMO Harris Bank, 7 N. Brown St., Rhinelander. Food items may be dropped off at the Food Pantry at 627 Coon St. from 9 a.m. to Noon, Monday through Thursday.
For more information on the local campaign, Hansen can be reached at 715-282-5810.
