UPDATE:

In addition to the State Search Warrant that resulted in the arrest of five individuals, a second State Search Warrant was executed later the same day in Minocqua on a storage building. No word has been release on the results of the second search.

Furthermore, the Sheriff’s Department will not be releasing the names of the five individuals who were arrested, as the investigation is ongoing. The individuals will appear in court Friday, Jan. 16, 2015.

Five people were arrested January 14, 2015 in the city of Rhinelander as part of an ongoing controlled substance investigation.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of the Rhinelander Police Department, the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, the Northcentral Drug Enforcement Group (NORDEG), and the Wisconsin Department of Justice continued an investigation involving the use, manufacture, and delivery of controlled substances, specifically methamphetamine.

Events surrounding this investigation led to the execution of a State Search Warrant in the city of Rhinelander and to the arrest of five individuals.

These arrests are part of an ongoing controlled substance investigation by the Northcentral Drug Enforcement Group (NORDEG) Task Force. Participating agencies in this investigation included the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the Rhinelander Police Department, the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office and the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office. The Rhinelander Fire Department assisted in the execution of the State Search Warrant.
