It’s Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
A national organization is promoting today as Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.). According to the Police Business Advisor website, the group known as COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) is partnering with national law enforcement associations to kick off the campaign.
In a statement, national president of COPS, Madeline Neumann said it’s time to take the LEAD. “Together we can make a difference. We need to sway public opinion of law enforcement before any more officers are killed. Police officers are not the enemy.”
COPS is asking individuals and organizations to show their support by wearing blue, sending notes of support and sharing positive stories of law enforcement, among other things.
