More on the credit card theft story. Officers last week arrested Brieanna M. Persike and Andrew C. Washburn in connection with the case. The Wausau Police Department assisted the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office with these arrests. Tips from the public assisted in the identification of Persike and Washburn. The two were arrested for entering an unlocked home in the middle of the night and taking a purse containing the previously reported stolen credit card and cash. They were arrested for burglary, theft, and misappropriation of identification. Persike was scheduled to appear today in Branch II of the Oneida County Courthouse. Washburn is currently being held in a facility outside of Oneida County and will appear at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in identifying the suspects that were being sought in connection with the use of a stolen credit card; and also thank the Wausau Police Department for their assistance in the apprehension of these suspects. The media and public’s assistance were crucial to the successful apprehension of the suspects.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to keep their homes locked at night or whenever they are away from their home. This is a unique occurrence in Oneida County and it should remind everyone the importance of locking up.
