Missing persons case resolved

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department was involved in a missing person situation over the weekend. On Thursday, Dec. 11, an 18-year old Rhinelander area man left a residence near the township of Harrison.

His family contacted law enforcement informing them that the individual suffers from Asperger Spectrum syndrome. The Sheriff’s Department started searching the area, checking back-roads and contacting friends and relatives. They also sent out a statewide broadcast to law enforcement for information on the man.

The man, whose name was not released, was found unharmed in the state of Kentucky, “after he sought help after running out of gas,” said Deputy Michael Caylor in an email to the media.

The Sheriff’s Department spoke with Kentucky law enforcement to ensure the individual was safe, then turned the situation over to the family, and had no further involvement to this point.
