Library celebrates thirty years of the Holiday Book Fund

A popular holiday fundraiser is celebrating its 30th year with a big goal. The Rhinelander District Library Foundation is hoping to raise $30,000 to celebrate the Ced Vig Holiday Book Fund.
Started in 1984, the fund has raised over $246,000 in gifts to date. The first book was donated back then by the Friends of the Library; it is now an annual event.
The donations are used to purchase books for the adult, young adult and children’s departments at the library. “One in four children’s books checked out by our patrons has the Holiday Book Fund bookplate,” notes Children’s Department Manager Tom Hurlburt.
Donations can be mailed to Rhinelander District Library Foundation, P.O. Box 1225, Rhinelander, WI 54501. All contributions will be gratefully accepted and all contributions are tax-deductible by law.
