Swim Club Competes in Pentathlon
The Rhinelander Swim Club traveled to Ladysmith on November 15th to compete in their annual Pentathlon. Swimmers have the opportunity to compete in the backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle, and the individual medley. Those swimmers finishing in the top twelve receive points ranging from one point for 12th place up to sixteen points for 1st place. Once those points are tallied, there is an award for High Points in each age bracket for male and female.
RSC had two young swimmers come home with a High Points trophy. Ten-year old Jack Antonuk had one 2nd place and four 1st place finishes and 8-year old Abi Winnicki had five 1st place finishes.
Other swimmers finishing in the top twelve were Russell Benoy, Miranda Erdmann, Oliver Ferdinand, Charlie Heck, Grace Heck, Joseph Heck, Martin Hoger, Taylor Hollands, Emily McFarland, Marisa McGuire, Eleanor Schiek, Michael Schiek, Jacob Schoppe, Sam Schoppe, Carly Seidl, Jack Seidl, Payton Seidl, and Makenna Winnicki.
The swim club kicks off its regular club season December 6 in Antigo and December 13 with their home meet at the Rhinelander High School Pool. Meets have free admission and are open to public.
