Obituary: Lyle E. Gilbert, Jr.

Lyle E. Gilbert Jr., age 81 of Rhinelander, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Friendly Village Nursing and Rehab. He was born March 16, 1933, in Rhinelander to Lyle and Mary Gilbert Sr. Lyle was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Gilbert of Sugar Camp; daughters, Debbie (Todd) Loftus, Patty (Mark) Gutteter, and Cyndy (Chuck) Devereaux all of Rhinelander; sons, Michael (Karen) Gilbert of Pound, Kenneth (Dawn) Gilbert of Tomahawk, Keith Gilbert of Miss., Mark Gilbert of Merrill, Terry Gilbert of Mayville, Richard (Rachel) Gilbert of Rhinelander and Christopher Brown of Rhinelander; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren; his sisters, Beatrice (Henry) Wiedeman of Tomahawk, Beverly Wulf of West Haven, Utah, Darline Ballhorn of Vancouver, Wash., Nancy (Michael) Cloutier of Rhinelander and Lisa (Bill) Holzem of Brokaw; brothers, Robert (Arline) Gilbert of LaCenter, Wash., Ronald (Debbie) Gilbert of Gleason and Dennis Gilbert of Elcho
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, a sister and a brother. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Rhinelander. (Carlson Funeral Home)
