Editor:
The election is over to my pleasure, but what a golden opportunity was missed/rejected by not only Mary Burke but for the State of Wisconsin and the citizens thereof.
Burke continued her pre-election Governor Walker bashing with the misdirected remarks she found necessary to utter after her deserved loss.
She would have gained enormous political strength had she not continued with the pre-election rhetoric that is found in this day and age. Her remarks should have been directed to all Wisconsinites to now join forces and provide support to moving Wisconsin ahead into a difficult future. But no, she and her speech writers choose to continue the negative atmosphere of the pre-election days.
When is this country and the citizens of the same going to foster the togetherness that brought us to victory in World War II. Will it take another Pearl Harbor? I hope not and my prayers echo that thought. The country has its faults, but it is still the best thing going.  Will it continue to be?
John F. Baltes, Rhinelander
