Several events are coming to Rhinelander, in an effort to promote awareness during National Hunger and Homeless Awareness month.

The Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing, Inc. is working with Frederick Place to throw an Everybody Deserves Shelter Campaign, which will be an ongoing program throughout the month.

As part of the event, businesses will accept $1 or more in donations, in exchange for a “donor house card,” which the businesses will display with their customers’ names.

The group will also be putting on a 5th annual Soup for Shelter event. Volunteers, restaurants and organizations have donated their time and resources to the event, which will take place Nov. 15 at Nativity of Our Lord gymnasium, Rhinelander, at 5 p.m..

Free will offerings will be accepted for a meal, open to the public, which is to be served at 5:30 p.m.. There will also be a raffle sale and drawing, and available door prizes.

For more information call Frederick Place at 715-369-9777.
