The Rhinelander Community Band will perform a musical tribute to veterans Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. This free annual concert will be held at James Williams Middle School.
The traditional hymns of all branches of the armed forces will be on the program, during which veterans in the audience will be acknowledged for their service. Among other featured selections will be a trombone trio playing “Slippery Gentlemen” with band accompaniment. Although the title refers to “gentlemen,” Jennifer Kasparek is part of the trio along with Bob Hanson and Jim Hall. Also included in the program will be a variety of marches and variations on well-known melodies. A color guard will be on hand to enhance this patriotic tribute.
The Rhinelander Area Community Band is under the direction of Jim Pekol. New members of all ages are always welcome.
