The Oneida County Department on Aging is looking for interested older adults to serve on the Oneida County Senior Center Advisory Council.  Members of the Advisory Council serve in an advisory capacity to the Oneida County Department on Aging/Senior Center Activities and Volunteer Coordinator to help insure that the Oneida Senior Center offers a welcoming atmosphere and opportunities for activities and events that foster the social, physical and emotional well-being of older county citizens.

The Oneida Senior Center Advisory Council members serve as a voice for the interests and concerns of older adults throughout Oneida County.  This 9-member committee meets with the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator once a month to brainstorm and discuss Senior Center programs and events.

Membership on the Senior Center Advisory Council requires attendance at monthly (daytime) meetings, one per month, and ongoing support and assistance when possible, of Center activities, events and fundraisers.

Interested Oneida County residents should contact the Department on Aging to receive an application packet.  Applications are due back to Stephanie Schroeder on or before 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014.

For more information contact the Department on Aging/Senior Center at 100 W. Keenan St., Rhinelander or call at 369-6170 or toll-free at 800-379-7499.
