Adult basketball leagues

The YMCA of the Northwoods will tip off its adult basketball league Wednesday, Sept. 24. Games will all have a supplied scorekeeper and will be played to 50-60 points. The call-your-own-foul league will run as a 6-week round robin and feature a single elimination tournament. The champions will receive T-shirts.

The league entry fee is $150. The Y has opened Wednesday nights to 6 A teams and Thursdays to 6 B teams; however, if the two leagues do not fill up, they may be merged.

The registration deadline is Thursday, Sept. 18; registration opens Sept. 3.

Fall co-ed volleyball leagues

The YMCA of the Northwoods will begin its co-ed volleyball leagues Monday, Sept. 22. The Y will run an A league and a B league Monday nights from 6 to 9 p.m.

The A League is designed for more advanced players, with jump serving. The A league is a call-your-own league as well. The B League is designed for intermediate players and those looking to simply enjoy a night of volleyball. Referees will be provided for B league games. Both leagues will feature round robin play and a double elimination tournament, with the champions receiving T-shirts.

The entry fee for the A league is $150; for the B league, the entry fee is $200. The Y has opened Monday nights to 10 A teams and 10 B teams.

The registration deadline is Monday, Sept. 15; registration opens Sept. 3.

Complete lists of rules and blank roster forms for the adult basketball and co-ed volleyball leagues may be found at ymcaofthenorthwoods.org. For more information, call 715-362-9622 ext. 113 or visit the website listed above.
