Obituary: Wayne Schleicher
Wayne Schleicher, age 56, of the Town of Newbold, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston following a brief illness. He was born on August 4, 1958, in McHenry, Illinois to Raymond Sr. and Constance (Tynus) Schleicher.
Wayne was an amazingly strong man who, three years ago, was able to win the battle with cancer until a recent reoccurrence. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, hiker, and biker. Wayne loved his family and the beautiful outdoors of Northern Wisconsin. He was known to many as “the copier guy” through his work as a service tech with E.O. Johnson Company.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Laura Schleicher; daughter, Heidi (Eric Alsteens) Schleicher; and two sons, Adam and Jonathan Schleicher, all of Rhinelander; a brother, Raymond Schleicher Jr. of Florida; brothers-in-law, Tony (Crystal) Leman of Lake Tomahawk, Edward (Jenny) Leman of Batavia, Ill., and Douglas Leman of Minocqua; adopted children, Megan (Ryan Singer) Birginal and Aaron Drivas of Rhinelander; as well as many other young people who considered Wayne as dad. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Annalea, Xander, Treiden, Matthew, and Chayce, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to join for a memorial gathering beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the home of Tony and Crystal Leman, 6530 Pinehurst Lane, Lake Tomahawk, WI 54539.
