Information session on teaching nursing assistant classes
Northwoods nurses interested in teaching nursing assistant classes at Nicolet College are invited to an instructor overview session from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 11, at the college.
The free, one-day session in the Art Tech Center will give participants insight into what it is like to teach in the program and the requirements necessary to do so.
Requirements include:
• current Wisconsin registered nurse license,
• a bachelor of science in nursing or 14,000 hours (seven years) of RN work experience and
• a minimum of two years’ direct care experience with a minimum of one year of direct care in a long-term care facility.
“We’ve seen a growing demand for certified nursing assistants in the Northwoods,” said Lenore Mangles, dean of Health Occupations at Nicolet. “To meet this demand, Nicolet has added more classes, thus the need for more instructors.”
Free breakfast and lunch will be provided at the session.
Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Mangles by Aug. 6 at (715) 365-4637 or [email protected]. Anyone with questions is also encouraged to contact Mangles.
