The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce filled a pair of vacancies recently as Lauren Strand was hired as the new Visitor Center Coordinator and Tina Elvins was named the new Event Cooridnator.

“I’m looking forward to working with both of them to continue expanding the work and reach of the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce,” Chamber Executive Director Dana DeMet said. “We have some great things coming the city’s way and we look forward to promoting the area and its businesses every day.”

Strand is a Rhinelander native and brings local knowledge to the position of Visitor Center Coordinator. Along with that she brings many years of experience working at Northwoods Golf Club, where she promoted events and planned outings.

“This experience means she’s already familiar working with many of the agencies she’ll encounter at the Chamber,” DeMet said.

Elvins originally hails from Georgia but makes Tomahawk home now. She has previous Chamber work experience from her time in Georgia and brings many fresh and exciting ideas to the position.

“Her attention to detail and enthusiasm for the work make her a perfect fit for the job,” DeMet said.

Elvins has begun her duties at the Chamber while Strand will begin July 28.
