There’s no doubt Ivy Windorff is glad to be back in Rhinelander, and so is her clientele that come to her at The Cutting Cabin in Rhinelander.

Ivy was raised in Rhinelander and started her career as a hair stylist immediately after graduating from beauty school 20 years ago. She worked for A Cut Above for a few years before spreading her wings and becoming a stylist in Memphis, Tenn. She got a taste of the big city and all it had to offer before deciding to come back to Rhinelander.

“I’m really glad to be back home again,” she said. “And I’m looking forward to growing my clientele once again in Rhinelander.

Ivy has rented a chair at The Cutting Cabin which is owned by Kelly Hoppe.

“I feel very honored that Ivy chose my salon to bring her business into,” said Kelly. “Rhinelander is lucky to have her big city talents up here in the Northwoods. I’m expecting that she will attract old and new clients looking for something fresh and modern. I’m very excited that she is back.”
Ivy specializes in a number of different beauty techniques. She is an accomplished and proficient stylist in cuts, coloring and permanents. She also is very knowledgeable about keratin treatments, a technique that is welcome this time of year.

“Keratin treatments eliminate the frizzies,” she said. “It is a smooting process that is actually good for the hair and a healthier option than other methods.”
Ivy feels very lucky to have a spot at The Cutting Cabin and it’s easy to see why. This cozy and friendly shop is filled with a number of interesting items available to visitors including handmade jewelry and handbags; beautiful stamped stationary featuring photos of Northwoods wildlife, Hempz lotions and the coveted McCall’s candles are available here too. These candles come in a wide variety of luscious scents such as s’mores, ginger and key Lime to name just a few.

The Cutting Cabin has plenty of beauty products on hand as well. Some familiar brand names include Wella, GK, Matrix, Paul Mitchell, Kenra and Bed Head. And if there is a product or item a customer requests, Ivy or Kelly are more than willing to special order it.

The Cutting Cabin is located at 411 S. Pelham St. in Rhinelander. Ivy’s working hours are Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Cutting Cabin is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred. Ivy’s number is 901-489-2115 and the number for The Cutting Cabin is 715-369-2277.
