Mud Run Training returns for summer to The YMCA of the Northwoods
The YMCA of the Northwoods has brought back the popular group fitness class this summer.
The eight-week Mud Run Training class will help runners train like they are running the Tough Mudder, the Warrior Dash, The Spartan Race, Dirty Girl or the Rugged Maniac.
Two personal trainers will be leading the class to help participants train and learn how to get ready for a race or two. Obstacle races, or mud runs usually contain running a certain distance and having to overcome certain obstacles such as, climbing over walls or crawling through mud under barbed wire. Doing one of these races will test your endurance, strength, and agility.
The Mud Run group fitness class will challenge participants and help them train so they are ready complete the race.
The eight-week class will prepare participants for the running portion and obstacles that may be encountered during a race. Two personal trainers will work with the class to help participants prepare for the race by doing specific strength training exercises, group runs and pre and post workout nutrition education.
The class begins July 8, and will be held Tuesdays at 6 a.m. and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., outside of the YMCA. The cost of the class is $15 for members and $50 for the general public.
