Nicolet Bird Club will offer presentation on eagles
The Nicolet Bird Club of Three Lakes is hosting a free presentation that is open to the general public.
Ron Eckstein, retired “emeritus” wildlife biologist of the DNR, who managed the statewide eagle and osprey conservation and survey programs for more than 20 years, will be sharing his knowledge and experiences with the eagle population.
The presentation will focus on the DNR’s eagle conservation program, the annual breeding and nesting surveys, trends in the health and growth of our eagle population, and will share many facts and fascinating points of insight into the behavior of these majestic birds.
Ron’s talk is based on years of in-field experience including personally banding more than 1,500 eaglets in the nest and erecting more than 70 osprey nest platforms.
Ron will give his presentation at the Nicolet Bird Club’s monthly meeting Monday, June 16, 6:30 p.m. at the Three Lakes Town Office Meeting Room, 6965 West School Street, Downtown Three Lakes.
The public is welcome.
