Volunteers wanted for inaugural Boom Lake Log Jam
The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce is asking for the community’s help in making the 1st annual Boom Lake Log Jam a great success. Volunteers are needed throughout the weekend to help setup, run and tear-down different parts of the community festival. Those who choose to get involved will be a part of a major event and will also receive a free volunteer T-shirt.
Volunteer opportunities are available Friday through Sunday June 20 to 22 and include setup and tear-down, ticket booth staffing, bartending, organizing kids’ activities, and other duties. Shifts are three hours long.
“We’re looking forward to a great weekend celebrating the rich logging history of the Rhinelander area,” said Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Dana DeMet. “These types of events couldn’t happen without the gracious effort and time given by all of our volunteers. I hope people take the opportunity to get involved in this first-year event and help make it successful.”
The Boom Lake Log Jam will take place at Hodag Park on the shores of Boom Lake and will feature family-friendly activities, a food court, All American Lumberjack Shows, Gene Shepard Hodag Shows, live music and much more. Admission to the event is free and open to all ages.
