The Wisconsin Technical College System Board has appointed three members to serve on the Nicolet College Board of Trustees.

Serving three-year terms on the board will be Brian Diel and Bob Martini. Sharon Nielsen will serve a two-year term, completing a term for a vacant position.

Diel, from Rhinelander, is the owner and president of the Diel Insurance Group, formerly Estabrook Insurance. Over the years, he has been active in numerous Northwoods community organizations. These include Downtown Rhinelander, Inc., Tomahawk Mainstreet, Inc., YMCA of the Northwoods, and the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry, among others. He has also served as a city of Rhinelander alderman and finance committee chair.

Martini, from Rhinelander, previously served 18 years on the Nicolet board, including five terms as board chair. Retired from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Martini has a long history of serving a wide variety of community organizations, focusing on natural resources, education, and economic development. This includes serving on the Nicolet College Foundation Board as President, Rhinelander School District Strategic Planning Committee, Northwoods Land Trust, and others. He also served in elected office on the Oneida County Board of Supervisors.

Nielsen, from Eagle River, is an attorney in private practice. She has served on numerous community boards, including the Northland Pines School Board, Olsen Memorial Library Foundation Board, Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts, along with others.

The three will be sworn in at the July 14 meeting of the Nicolet College Board of Trustees.
