Nativity parish brings Christian youth together for program

Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Parish in Rhinelander recently initiated and hosted a unique Ecumenical Christian program highlighting youth of all ages.
The program: “Never Too Young” came together as an idea to invite and gather Christian youth from the Rhinelander area to participate in or attend a program about evangelization, witnessing and discipleship.

Because the challenge of the call to discipleship is sometimes overlooked by youth, the goal of the event was to bring area Christian young people together to realize the common call which we share and that no one is too young or too old to make a difference.

The April 23 program brought to attention even small acts of kindness that our youngest children can do all the way to more complex issues that teenagers might be faced with. Music, skits, short lessons and discussion formed the program as well as audience participation. The Nativity Teen Choir led outstanding praise and worship music that highlighted ideas about sharing the Gospel, caring for others and being a true disciple of Christ.

Nativity organizers, Joyce Wagner, Holly Spiegelhoff and Laura Fenzl had students from the First Congregational United Church of Christ accept the invitation to perform. They shared some songs supporting the theme of the event.

In attendance were other area churches of various denominations and some of their youth groups who accepted the invitation to come enjoy the program.
Donations were collected for the Rhinelander Food Pantry.
