After months of fundraising the Let’s Go Fishing (LGF) Northwoods Chapter Board of Directors announces the launch of its second season. Let’s Go Fishing is a Northwoods program that enriches the lives of people age 55 and older, handicap, veterans, children and hospice patients through free fishing and boating excursions that strengthen communities, build relationships and create memories.

“We are all very excited to once again offer this outstanding program to Rhinelander for its second season,”
Chrissy Peterson, LGF Chapter President, said. “We could not have done it without the dedication and commitment of our planning committee and community businesses. I can’t wait to get our first group of passengers out on the water.”

Those interested in becoming a captain or first mate can attend a scheduled training Thursday, May 22 at 1 p.m. at the Boom Lake Pavilion rain date scheduled for May 29.

Let’s Go Fishing Northwoods will be scheduling free fishing and boating excursions beginning June 2, Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Labor Day (weather permitting). All the equipment is provided. The excursions are led by trained volunteers.

To schedule an excursion or to volunteer, contact Stephanie Schroeder of Let’s Go Fishing Northwoods Chapter at 715-419-LGFN.
