Wisconsin Department of Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett will present the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce with a $10,000 check at 2:30 p.m. May 22 at the Chamber office. Secretary Klett is presenting the check as part of the Rhinelander Chamber’s JEM Grant award for the inaugural Boom Lake Log Jam happening this June 20 to 22.

The public and local dignitaries are invited to attend the “big check” presentation which will take place in front of the Hodag at the Chamber’s offices. Secretary Klett will be joined by her staff and state legislators have also been invited to attend.

“I look forward to welcoming Secretary Klett to our city and for getting the opportunity to thank her in-person for choosing our event for the award,” RACC Executive Director Dana DeMet said. “The Boom Lake Log Jam promises to be a great event for the whole family and should attract large crowds to the Rhinelander area.”

The Boom Lake Log Jam will occur June 20 to 22 at Hodag Park in Rhinelander. It is a community event that will celebrate Rhinelander’s rich logging history with lumberjack shows and competitions, kid’s activities, a camp-style pancake breakfast, live music, food and beverages and much more.

The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce is organizing the event and is receiving the JEM Grant to help promote the Log Jam in markets outside of the immediate Rhinelander area.
