Community Blood Center hosts ?Cruising into Summer!? blood donation program

From May 23 to June 6, the Blood Center is hosting a “Cruising Into Summer!” donation program, where blood donors can enter a drawing to win a $100 gas card. Blood donations collected during this time will help sustain the blood supply around Memorial Day weekend, when blood donations usually drop.

“Community blood drives can have a major impact on our blood supply, and this program comes at a very important time,” said Andrea Michaud of the Community Blood Center. “The donations collected through the “Cruising into Summer!” program will help boost blood supplies before the holiday. Get an early start to your Memorial Day celebration by giving blood and helping others!”

Donors who wish to participate in “Cruising Into Summer!” may do so at the Blood Center donor center in Woodruff.

Official rules for the program are found at www.communityblood.org. Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental permission), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, and bring a photo ID. Donors are encouraged to eat a regular meal and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating.
