Rhinelander High School student competes in Pastry Arts and Baking Competition
Rhinelander High School sophomore Braeden Bell recently earned a gold medal and a state silver medal at the Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) state and regional competitions.
Bell earned his gold medal at the regional FCCLA event in February at Mosinee.
Having taken ProStart in high school this year, Bell chose Pastry Arts and Baking as his competition. This event judges students on their ability to take a surprise recipe and complete the making of the product within two hours. Safety, sanitation and culinary skills are evaluated.
The FCCLA state competition was held March 31 to April 2 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. Bell practiced four new recipes to help prepare for the state competition.
