Gurkirpal S. Sikka recertified in pain medicine

Ministry Health Care is announced Gurkirpal S. Sikka, M.D., was recently recertified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Pain Medicine. 

Dr. Sikka is also board certified in critical care and anesthesiology. He practices pain medicine at Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander.

Dr. Sikka earned his medical degree and completed his internship at Government Medical College-Patiala, Punjab, and completed residencies with Cook County Hospital, Chicago, and General Hospital, Chandigarh, India.

Gurkirpal S. Sikka and his specially trained staff understand pain and are interested in reducing pain issues in patients. 

The Pain Control Center treats acute and chronic pain with a holistic approach. Specializing in interventional pain medicine procedures, various conditions that are treated may include low back pain, neck pain, accident-related discomfort, myofascial pain and nerve pain, such as shingles. Treatments may include epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, spinal cord stimulator placements, placement of long-term pain pumps and radiofrequency ablation.

The Pain Control Center in Rhinelander originated in 1985 with the arrival of Dr. Gurkirpal S. Sikka, and he is currently the medical director of the Pain Control Center. The goal of the pain management team is to give patients an improved quality of life and to allow you to experience an adequate level of comfort.
