Viewpoint: Writer thanks all who helped rededicate piano
Editor:
Many thanks to event planners Connie Piasecki, Adair Sexton and the Rhinelander Music Department, for organizing the Sunday afternoon recital March 16, which dedicated the recently restored RHS Steinway grand piano. The Steinway Model B, its renovation facilitated by the Hodag Schools Foundation and made possible by a generous gift from community member Dori Brown, represents a splendid community asset.
In addition, special gratitude goes to four community piano teachers: Mary Karnosky, Carolyn O’Brien, Carmen Kreitlow, and Lori Ring, who showcased the commitment and talent of some twenty of their students. These young pianists ranged from a first grader to a college piano major. Featuring selections from classical to modern, their ninety minute concert delighted a sizeable audience. Each pianist received a lovely acknowledgement bouquet of spring flowers from Dori.
Congratulations Rhinelander. The Steinway technician who restored our grand piano advised us that it must be played. He would clearly be pleased with Sunday’s recital, presented by these dedicated teachers and talented young people.
Julie Bronson, HSF Secretary, Rhinelander
