Obituary: Clarence “Pickles” Jewell

Clarence “Pickles” Jewell, 81 of Rhinelander, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 22, 1932, in Rhinelander to Charles Sr. and Bernice (Zarm) Jewell. Clarence was a firefighter with the Rhinelander Fire Department and served the department for 27 years, retiring as Assistant Fire Chief. Clarence is survived by his wife, Janice of Rhinelander; his four children, Randy (Sandy) Jewell, Cindy Jewell, and Ted (Lisa) Jewell all of Rhinelander, and Lisa (Mark) Demro of DePere; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and his brother, Charles Jr. (Doris) Jewell of Rhinelander. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard. A funeral service for Clarence will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church / St. Joseph’s site. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Carlson Funeral Home and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Interment will be in Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. (Carlson Funeral Home)
